    Lists eliminating the blanks

I am creating a blank template that will be used multiple times. On one sheet, is an entry of names. On other tabs, I want to use a data validation that pulls from these names (so far simple, right). However, sometimes, this list may only be 3 names, some times it may be 40. How do I create a list that only shows the entered names as options, so if there are only 3 names entered, it doesn't have 37 blanks?

    Re: Lists eliminating the blanks

    Hi,

If you use a Table for your list of names, it will automatically expand as names are added. You can reference the table's column within your data validation rule. Provided there are no gaps in the Table, it should work fine.
    Hope that helps,

    Colin

This takes me back to one of the issues I am having on another post.

    See:

I am trying to stay away from using a table.
