    Need help with Formula

    Hi,

    I am trying to find a formula that will do what I have demonstrated on the attached spreadsheet. Basically I am saying that 1Y is equal to 48 parts, and I would like to be able to put in one cell 3Y12. In another cell I would enter .75 and then a formula would figure out that 3y*48=144+12=156*.75=117/48=2.44 then 2*48=96 so 117-96=21 and therefore the answer would be 2Y21. I hope this makes sense and is possible.
