Re: Seperate into each column in EXCEL

    Hello,

can you please find the Caps Lock button on your keyboard and turn it off? Posting in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is considered SHOUTING and not polite.

Is your source data really in a Word document? The Word file you have posted has a variable number of paragraph marks at the end of each segment.

If your source data is a flat text file, you can just open it with Excel and use the Text-to-columns dialog to separate the data into individual columns.

Please explain in more detail, and turn off the Caps Lock.

    cheers,

    I'm confused now.

the first Word document and the second Word document have the data in different formats. Which is the correct one?

Re: Separate into each column in EXCEL

Is each "record" always the same number of rows in the Word file? What are the delimiters for separating the fields? Looking at your first post, the delimiters are definitely not the commas.

Can you come up with a description of how to separate the data into columns? Unless you can do that, there won't be a solution, I'm afraid.

I think , you 'd make two stages:

1st stage: Convert the data to a table with rows divided by paragraph-mart (Ms.WORD: Select data, and then Insert tab -> Table -> convert to table), and then copy that to excel

2nd stage: In excel, base on the data - divided the groups and then creat formula reaching to result

    Re: Separate into columns

    @tigertiger,

can you please read all the posts in this thread, not just the first question? The example file that the OP posted in post #5 and which s/he has specified as the data to work with and the suggestion you posted do not match.

Also, I've asked the OP to clarify if her/his latest comment is related to the original question.

Please refrain from posting in this thread until krrish has responded to my request with clarification.

    Thanks.
