    Question Calculate Overtime Hours

    Hello:

    Background:

Our unit is trying to complete a 75 assessment piece project in the month of June. Each employee works 7 hours per day and is allowed up to 30 hours a month for overtime. It usually takes one employee to complete one assessment in a 7 hour timeframe, but we must keep in mind that the employees also have regular workloads to manage at the same time, which is why evening and weekend OT is required. The regular workload could take up to half the regular working day to complete.

    What I need:

I need to know is how many days of OT hours can we fit into the month of June, how many staff do we expect to work OT, and how many files can be completed during OT if they can't be completed in a regular work day (7 hours). There are 11 staff members assigned to this project.

Can someone please help me in trying to find a formula that will help calculate the above? Our NHQ wants to reduce as much OT hours as possible, but they want to know if OT is actually necessary for our unit or if they should be reducing our budget dollars if the project can be done during regular working hours.

    Many thanks!

    Re: Calculate Overtime Hours

Is OT anything on a day other than M-F that's greater than 7 hours?

    Hi Fervorking,
    Sorry, didn't see your response!
But to answer your question, anything M-F over 7 hours is considered OT.
    Thank you!
