Excel 2007 : stop autofill of similar words

I have excel 2007 and am trying to turn off the autofill function.
I am typing columns of data (language spelling tests) which are often starting with the same letters. Excel is finishing the words for me and I am constantly having to cancel the auto-filled word which slows me down and means I have to watch the screen as I type. How do I turn this off?

Click on the Office Button, top left

Click on Excel Options, at the bottom

Click on Advanced

Remove the tick in "Enable AutoComplete for cell values"

Click OK
