Exclamation Removing Duplicates From Excel 2007

    Hello Friends,

This is my first post in this forum.

    I have a situation here:-

Please refer to the attached spreadsheet and kindly advise me on the suggested way to solve this issue:-

In the attached spreadsheet, you will see that there are 2 type of duplicate entries:

    Duplicate 1 -

It is that data where the URL and all other fields are same.

    Duplicate 2 -

It is that data where the URL is same but the corresponding data is different.

What I want to do is -

Suppose I want to keep only Unique URLs and their corresponding data in the xls. How can I do that?

Note:- As for which row to keep in case of duplicate 2 - Any of them.

Kindly advise how do I get this done.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Hi,

If you mean that you want to keep rows 2,3,5 & 6 then in I2 and copied down enter

Now use Data filter and filter column I for the value 1, then copy the filtered rows to another sheet.

Use the built in feature for that:
    Data - Remove Duplicates

I have a similar problem but the option you suggested is not helping.

Reason is the data that corresponds to that column has different entries and removing duplicates do not work if the fields are different.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You select which column(s) to base the deletion on. It can be from 1 to all.
In the OP's case it is based on a single column.
In your case, if all the other fields are different why would you be deleting duplicates in one column?
