    Question calculation using array

    Dear experts.
    Iam living in Tanzania and i want to be helped this problem

    My students did nine subjects and i want to calculate their points and division with only seven subjects that they perfomed well.the subjects are Civics, History, English, Kiswahili, Biology, Physics,Mathematics, Chemistry and Geography where A=1,B=2,C=3,D=4 and F=5.
    forexample
    Civics-C , History-B, English -B, Geography -D,Kiswahili -A,Biology -A,Chemistry-B, Physics-C Maths-A, Points-12, Division-I

    The above example shows the perfomance of students but the problem iam getting is how to get the points in excel by choosing only seven subjects which the students has perfomed well?
    experts please help me on that

    Please try the attached. It uses an array formula, so you can't just hit ENTER if you edit it; you must use CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. If you decide to change the number of classes to include in the calculation, just change the number (7) at the end of the formula. Hope this helps.
