    Data entry blocks

There is a function in Excel that allows a user to highlight a group of cells and then input data, where the cursor "jumps" to the next cell in the highlighted group. So if A1..F1 are highlighted, and a number is input into A1, when the user hits "enter" the cursor automatically jumps to B1; a number is input to B1, hit enter, and the cursor jumps to C1; etc...
What's this function called, and how do I turn it on/off?

    Hi,

I'm not aware of an option that lets you prevent that behaviour.

Hi and welcome to the board
As far as I know this is a native behavior in XL, no functions needed.
Just check that in your Edit settings the " Move selection afeter Enter" direction is set to " Down"

Even when you turn the option to move after enter off the behaviour described still occurs when a block of cells are highlighted.
