Insert Diagram When Value Selected In Drop List

Helllo to everyone, Please accept my thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give on this.

I am just starting to use drop down lists to select text which returns a number result in a hidden cell (so you can mulitply etc by it) but I cant figure out how to do this:

I want a few drop down lists with various options in them and when they are selected it will update and change a schematic diagram on the same worksheet... it is for electrical wiring circuits so rather than create a new digram everytime i just want to select for example how many components from a list and then the diagram change to suit.

Am I even using the right program to try to accomplish this and can it even be done?

You will probably need VBA code to do what you describe.

There are ways of showing images based on a list, but I have a feeling it will not be suitable for your task.
