    sumifs

    Hello

i have attached a sample workbook where i am struggling with the sumifs function.

basically, i have provided an example in yellow in the "master" sheet.

i need to know by the start date what city the training took place for different sales position

    i.e.
    SE/ISE - start date of training: 15-nov-2010 - Washington

so in my master sheet i have 15-nov-2010...so i would for it to show Washigton, when i type in the date.

my criteria will be, reference or criteria will be column H in facilitator sheet where the city name is found.....i have also tried to use ISE/SE and SE as reference in the master sheet. pls advise/

    Re: sumifs

I am not sure you need Sumifs.. you're not summing anything....

but I don't understand what you are wanting... you mentioned Washington.. I don't see Washington in your list?

    Re: sumifs

hello....VLOOKUP is better, but can i integrate like the scenarios?

basically, i need the city name to come in...i used washington as an example. it should be "Philadelphia"

so im wondering when i input the start date in the "master sheet"...it uses the start date from the "Faclitator" worksheet as well as the "training type i.e. ISE/SE & SE Training" to find the city name.

your suggestions? thx you so much!

If I understand you correctly a vlookup will do the trick

Try this in D5 and drag down..

    Re: sumifs

i tried using this...(mind you on a different workbook than sample) and still getting an error

    =INDEX(Master!H7:H24,MATCH(1,(Master!D7:D24=Master!O9)*(Master!F7:F24=Master!$O$6)*(Master!F7:F24=Master!$P$6),0))

    i placed the { } as well
