Find first cell containing text within a row

    Hello,

Very new to more advanced formulas within excel. I am trying to figure out how to put a formula together that will search the a row and return the first cell that contains text. For instance if I am on row 5, and B5 contains the number 120, and C5 contains the text "hello" I would like the formula to return "hello" in the cell.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

    Something like:

    =INDEX(A5:K5,MATCH(TRUE,INDEX(ISTEXT(A5:K5),0),0))

where A5:K5 is your lookup range.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Exactly what I wanted, thank you very much!
