How to create a customer database?

Hi all i would like to create a customer database for my window cleaning company.

What i would need it to do is track/store customer details, address name etc also have a few clean frequency options e.g weekly, monthly, two monthly, yearly.

Also i need it to it to then show when a clean is due some how by knowing the last clean date or something.

I need to be able to mark jobs as done and customer paid or not
    producing the relevant invoices and
Then need to to track expenses and income and debts owed by customers

is this even possible with excel and how hard would all this be?

yes it is all possible(i think) start by creating a table customer name/address/other stuff/start-date/frequency once you have that as an example attach it to here then we can progress from there

these sort of projects often start out very simple, but quickly become administrative monsters. it should be pretty easy to set up in excel, but because excel does not enforce data relationships, you'd need to program in some data validation (basically avoiding garbage from getting captured). it may be trickier to use ms access in the beginning, but over the longer term you'll have less headaches.

Or buy/use a program that already exists for this very thing. You can probably Google up 100s of cheap solutions.
