Auto Save Feature cannot find file

We had an excel file built in Microsoft Office 97. We are now running Excel 2007.

When we open the spreadsheet and then close it, we get this error.
The file that it is looking for does not exist in that directory root.

Is there a way for us to disable this because it has the file name has been assigned to run each time we close the document.
