    Basic Formulas

    Hello, I wanted to create an excel/portfolio of rooms, that I'm renting out (I.e. two houses, 2 rooms upstairs, 3 downstairs) but I don't know how to program the calculations.
    For example;
    House - Room - Tenant entry date - Tenant Leaving date - Rent -

    ..etc
    Then having the overall value for all rent, turned into a large revenue amount.

    would you be able to help me with his formula?

    Welcome to the Forum!

    This is not difficult, and Excel is pretty good at it. But you need to be a little more specific about how you want to calculate rent. If you know exactly how you would do this on paper, then getting Excel to do it will be straightforward.

    You have to have a column that gives the monthly rate for the room (assuming that you use a monthly rate).

    How do you want to prorate if the entry and/or exit dates fall in the middle of a month? Many leases use 1/30 for each day regardless of how many days are actually in the month.
