Given List of Customer Name & Location. How do I Filter By Largest # From Particular Loca?

    Hi Everyone,

I have an excel sheet with a customer list and the states they're in.

I would like to find out which states are the majority of my customers from, and which states have the least customers.

And then I'd like number of customers from each state.

Can someone please show me how to do this? Would I use COUNTIF?

I would solve that with a pivot table.

If you add a small excel file, i will show you.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

It's always nicer if you post an Excel sheet for us to work with.

Try this out, though. I used two array formulae.

Array Formulae are a little different from ordinary formulae in that they MUST be confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER.

You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around the outside of your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will (almost always) get an error message or an incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.

Don't type the curly braces yourself - it won't work...

Here are a couple of ideas for you. This is a very simple workbook with simple examples. One uses COUNTIF the other uses a Pivot Table and there is a calculation showing the state with the most and state with the least.
