    sum if with wildcard criteria

    Hi!

I am having troubles getting this formula to work:

    =SUM(IF('Data Comp1'!C4:C100={"*.5.*"},'Data Comp1'!K4:K100,0))

Background to this formula is that I need to sum up the values in column K, depending on if the respective cell in column C has a ".5." partially in its cell value or not.

The above formula seems correct, however, only returns me 0, making me believe that I cannot do a wildcard seach with this setting.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    A2k

Re: sum if with wildcard criteria

It looks like you should be using:

    =SUMIF('Data Comp1'!C4:C100,"*.5.*",'Data Comp1'!K4:K100)
    Hope that helps,

    Colin
