    Excel name conflict error

Whenever I try to copy a worksheet in a particular Excel 2007 file (.xlsm), I get the following message:

A formula or sheet you want to move or copy contains the name ‘ACwvu.prime._.view.’, which already exists on the destination worksheet. Do you want to use this version of the name?
    • To use the name as defined in the destination sheet, click Yes.
    • To rename the range referred to in the formula or worksheet, click No, and enter a new name in the Name Conflict dialog box.

I can't find the name in the name manager or in the visual basic module. I would appreciate any help with this error.

    Thanks,

    Don

Look in View > Custom Views?

    Hi shg,

Yes, I already looked there. I forgot to mention that in my original message. It's not there.

    Thanks,

    Don

    Re: Excel name conflict error

After further searching around, I found a solution to the problem by downloading an Excel name manager from http://www.decisionmodels.com/downloads.htm. This is an Excel add-in with excellent capabilities for managing names. I've been using the spreadsheet that I've been having problems with for many years and through multiple versions of Excel. There were dozens of extraneous names with #REF errors and I was not able to see them with any of the installed capabilities in Excel.

    Thanks,

    Don
