How to auto link and update Excel and Access

I have an excel file, and also have another Access database. The Excel file and Access database have several same columns (e.g. empID, locaiton, manager etc), but some columns are different. Most people listed in Access are also in Excel.

Everytime when data is changed, I need to maually update in both Excel and Access.

I want to automate the updates in both Excel and Access, Can someone instruct me on how to do it?

You can create a linked linked table from the access database to the excel spreadsheet. Whenever the access table is updated, the records in excel will also be updated. Does this make sense to you at all and/or seem like a reasonable solution?

Yes it make sense to me. But could you provide a little more detailed instruction? I use 2007 version for both.
