A follow-on to my earlier query. I can use that formula, but it will only give me a grand total. I am now keeping a spreadsheet that is updated daily. Is there a way to total what is completed each day? and then keep a total total at the end?
I should also add, that there are seven categories that I am tracking, so each category will need to be counted - each day and again, in total.

I think you're going to need to backtrack a little! For the benefit of the wider audience, you should explain what the formula is that you have ... ideally in the context of a sample workbook with some typical data ... and how it needs to change.

use pivot table for your question, after you make your data sheet is in right format
pivot table is powerful to tool for count by point and drag
