    A better search box

    Hello.

I am continuing to develop my costing spreadsheet which works very well.

However with already 400 food items in there picking it from a drop down box is a bit tedious.

What would speed things up is if I could make the amount of items showing in the drop down box a bit longer, is this possible?

If not is there a way to have a search box in the spread sheet itself , but ideally that search box would put the result in the active cell.

I may well be asking too much I do inderstand that?

Thing is I am guessing that excel being what it is the person would have to enter the exect dish item they want, where as really I want to like be able to type 'tom' and everything with tom in is returned that I can pick from and it automagically go into the active cell or starting in a specific cell then checking for the next empty cell and putting it in there.

Are you comfortable using an add-in?

You can dowload the add-in at http://www.box.net/shared/ono8ni9xvr

There's a read-me at http://www.box.net/shared/4qxybepxxr that explains what to do with it. I'm happy to answer questions after you've read this carefully.

Before you apply this to your workbook, I suggest you get the add-in installed and then try out the example workbook at http://www.box.net/shared/e8dbbple34 to get a feel for how it works.

I did this for my daughter last week, and it hasn't been tested much, so it may have its peculiarities.
