Understanding the Sumproduct function

Hi guys - I am trying to learn about the sumproduct function and am looking for examples of sumproduct with:

if and vlookup

In addition, cases when sumproduct is not being used to multiply but add.

I am not sure what you mean by using it in If(Vlookup()) or add instead of multiply
