XY Scatter Graph - auto time scale adds extra days

    Hi!

I have this XY Scatter graph with date column for X axis formatted as follows:

    27/12/10 00:00
    27/12/10 01:00
    27/12/10 02:00
    ....
    02/01/11 21:00
    02/01/11 22:00
    02/01/11 23:00

Scale is set to auto and the problem is the graph adds one extra empty day at the extremities of the X time scale. See attached screenshots.

Can this be fixed? I really need the AUTO option because the date is dynamic and I have tens of graphs generated every week. I'm also stuck with XY Scatter graph type because it is the only one that can format date/time properly. Line chart adds up all values within the same day, so that chart type is not an option.

    Thanks

    Hello,

format the X axis and set the maximum to another value.

40547 is the internal number for 4-january 2011. If you want one day less, use 40546 instead

Each whole number is one day (starting from 1st January 1900), so you can manipulate the axis scale by adjusting the automatic number value by whole numbers.

I thought I explained clearly why I need it on AUTO. Manual adjustment is not an option due to dinamic dates and very large number of graphs. But thanks for the effort anyways.

If you use AUTO then you have to live with the values provided.

Let's face it when it comes to automated values which ever method you use to derive those values somebody is not going to be happy as it does not give the values they want. If the scale was min and max of actual dates such that the lines touched the plot area a whole bunch of people would moan that the auto values should include a day either side.

rather than manual can you not use code to set you axis values?
    Cheers

Well I was just expecting the same behaviour from XY Scatter as for the other chart types (Line, Bar, etc). These work as you said, simply use min and max values for X axis on AUTO. OK, Scatter tries to be smarter and it can't be changed, got that.

Code would be fine too, never done that, don't know where to start, but I'll start digging.

    Thanks
