    shorten a long list

in column A, i have 1000 rows. there are 30 cells containing text mixed randomly throughout this column.

is there a way i can shorten this list to another column containing ONLY the cells with the text, preferably by the order from which they are listed within the original column (meaning the first entry in row 11 will be in the new column row 1, the next entry in the original column at 202 will be in the new column row 2 etc etc)

sorry for the obscure question, i dont know how to begin to properly describe my needs and how to address it
