Question If Then formula with wild card

    Is the following possible?

I need a statement that will sum a single colum but output to two different rows the number of items of each type (2).

    EX:

    Colum A
    0010E7AA1234
    0010E7AA1234-5
    0010E7AA1236
    0010E7AA1246
    0010E7AA1264-7

    Total A=3 Total B=2

The equipment has a obvious difference witht the MAC and that is the "-?" at the end, I want to show in seperate rows the total number of each item.

    Help!

    Thanks.

    Try:

    =COUNTIF(A1:A5,"<>*-*")

    and

    =COUNTIF(A1:A5,"*-*")
Where there is a will there are many ways.
