    How to stop Backup Files being created

    Hi Guys, good morning - boy its brass monkeys today! brrrrrrr (for those not of these shores) brass monkeys = freezing!

    Todays issue number 1 is that some spreadsheets which I have been given create backups each time i open them and its got to stooooooooooooooop!!

    Any ideas guys on how to achieve this?

    Hi,

    Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options.

    In the Save category, under Save workbooks, untick the Save AutoRecover information check box.
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1
