Copy sheet to WORD 2007 - objects moving

    Hi!

We have developed a number of standard datasheets that we use on a daily basis in our business. The datasheets contain, among other things, logos and certification texts. We recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007, and have encountered problems when copying the sheets into WORD reports. After the upgrade, the images and textboxes of the sheets move about after pasting into WORD, destroying the layout of our reports. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

An example of our problem: At the top of our datasheet we have placed a logo at a specified position. We use shift+edit and select "copy image", "as print "result", and then paste the image into the WORD document. In the image of our datasheet, the logo has now moved downwards and to the right, partly concealing information in the data sheet.

I'm posting here even though this might be an Office or WORD question, hoping to find an answer from EXCEL people.

    Thanks,

    Martin

Re: Copy sheet to WORD 2007 - objects moving

    Hi Forum!

I have found exactly the same issue as described by Martin and have been trying everything I know to get around it, but without success.

A template is used by staff as the basis for adding bitmaps, text boxes, drawing items (arrows, lines etc. An important part of this process is to copy a worksheet to a new workbook and then save it. Some minor automated editing is done prior to the shee copying, but I have discovered that this has no effect on the result.

    Here is what happens:-
    1. Using Excel 2007, I open a workbook with some bitmaps, text boxes and drawing items.
    2. I copy the whole worksheet by right-clicking in the top left-hand corner, choosing Copy.
    3. Create a new blank workbook, right-click in the corner of the worksheet and choose Paste

The result is that a number, not all, of the items (text boxes and drawing items) have moved across the worksheet, making it effectively useless.

I have tried the same technique with Excel 2003 and it works perfectly every time (has been doing this for years).

To try and resolve the problem, I tried grouping items, moving them prior to copy/paste (in case there were overlap/conflict issues) and resizing some items (this helped one part of the sheet but not the majority of the items). None fixed the issue, can anyone help please?

    Ian
