    Quotient and Percentages

I'm looking to create a chart where Column A is a number and Column B is Column A divided by 272, expressed as a percentage. I thought it would be easy to do using "=QUOTIENT(A1,272)", setting the field to express as a percentage. For some reason it will only show as 0.00%, unless the number in Column A is over 272.

Does anyone know how I might solve this?

Re: Issues with Quotient and Percentages

QUOTIENT only returns the integer portion of the result... so always a whole number.

    Try

    =A1/27200

    formatted as percent
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Per Excel Help:
    "QUOTIENT function
Returns the integer portion of a division. Use this function when you want to discard the remainder of a division"

Is that what you want to do?
