    Sum = 100 but should be 110

    See the attached.

    I have a column that has a mixture of negative and positve numbers but the sum in C15 is not correct ...

    Do I have to use a different formula to get a Sum when using negative and postive numbers?

    For every negative number it seems to subtract 20?

    What am I missing ... beside a brain.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi SVTF,

    You have eleven of +10 for 110 and one -10. Add them together and you get 100.

    Excel is right. What were you thinking? C15 is and should be 100.

    I'm still confused why you can start on the ground floor, go up only one flight of stairs and be on the second floor. I've pondered this many years and realized some people start counting with 1 instead of zero. It has always confused me.

    Hope that helps.

    So I guess I am just missing the brain part ... LOL

    Not even going to talk about where my logic or lack of logic was when I asked this question.

    Thanks
