Excel 2007 : Unable to delete Data Validaton Icon

Attached is an almost blank sheet,

You can clearly see a data validation icon near CY8. I tried to get rid of it, but with no luck.
It doesn't seem to be nested in any cell, and I'm unable to even select it.

Suffice it to say, that I cleared the data in the sheet and deleted everything. The original workbook has so much information and so many formulas that it would be quite a feat to copy everything to a new workbook. So I want to know if this pesky arrow could be removed.

There is no VBA or macros in this sheet.
