Count Formula-count the number of times

In Excel 2007 I want to count the number of times a certain text string appears in a column and have that number appear in a different worksheet. What formula do I use? Thanks

Hello Adam, If you want to count "text" in column A of "my worksheet" try this formula

=COUNTIF('my worksheet'!A:A,"text")
