Trying to understand Macros, Personal.xls, Normal.Dot

I have several different spreadsheets with macros, VBA coding, input forms, etc.. I need to make these totally portable, not confined to the machine they were created on. I tried going into Tools->Macros, then entering the current file name in the "Macros in:" field. This still did not give me access to the VBA portion.

I am able to use the coding, forms, etc. in VBA, but can not bring up the VBA Project Explorer. Can any one give me some insight on this.

    Thank You.

    Re: Macros, Personal.xls, Normal.Dot, whatever ...

WIll be glad to change title. However, I am not asking anyone to debug my code, or anything like that. I am simply asking for someone to POINT me in the right direction.

But, as far as the title is concerned, I felt it was accurate, not ambiguous. Depending on who you talk to (whether right or wrong), many people refer to the common code areas for Microsoft as NORMAL. It was only after chasing another thread that I saw PERSONAL. I included the reference to MACROS because that seems to be tied to the "common code" area.

If this is the wrong forum, please let me know.

Alt+F11 to show the VBE, Ctrl+R to show the Project Explorer window.

It's really strange, but hitting the Ctl-R does not bring up the Project Explorer. If I hit the Windows pull-down, the forms and coding are available there. If I hit the Ctl-R on a spreadsheet created on this machine, it will bring up P-E. And if I hit it on the original machine this spreadsheet was created on, it will bring up the P-E. Tells me that it is not a global machine setting.

    Very Strange !

    Ctrl+R in the VB Editor

What version of Excel are you using? You need to do ALT F11 first to get to the VBA Editor. Then CNTRL R will bring up the Project Explorer within the VBA Editor. Alternately, when in the VBA editor, select "View' from the menu and then "Project Explorer"
