    Program error.exe

I have a user who shares an excel spreadsheet with other user on a network. All the users except one can open it and do what they have to do. This one user launches the spreadsheet and it opens after about a minute but then immediately comes up with a program error.exe. it says a a log file is being created but it doesn't create one. I had the user copy the spreadsheet directly to her computer and try it there but the same thing happens. Office has been reinstalled once already but it dod not fix the issue. any ideas?

    Thanks

Hi, I think you're referring to this Microsoft Excel program error:

EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need

to restart the program. An error log is being created.

If so try the following fixes:

    1. Issue may have something to do with your default printer (networked). Try changing your default printer from network to local

    another possible fix:
    2. Delete the user profile or rename it... adding all your icons printers etc again. OR

    if all else fail, try:
    3. Go into the registry and delete the excel folder and keys under /microsoft office/office. Run excel and it should self repair.

A certain site about program errors has a tool that could help fix certain program errors.
