Which Cells Summed = Known Target

Hi,

Is there any way that you can identify from a column of figures which cells in that column sum to equal a whole known figure? I understand there could be more than one combination but the known total is a fairly unique one so wouldn't think that there would be too many combinations.

I think I know what you are trying to do and it is quite complex - you will have a list of numbers in a column and you want to find values that match a number you have entered, you have already mentioned there might be more than one possibility which makes it more complicated, VBA would be the way to go here but it will require a lot of coding but I am sure they are examples out there. Another method that might be of help is Excel Solver (this might need to installed as an add-on) I don't know what Excel version you have.
