Post Ranking based on two columns

I want to rank the players based on their points and then on their averages.

Ranking result required in Column E of the attached sheet.

Any two or more teams have same number of points but their averages hardly can be the same. so first ranking should be based on points and then on averages i.e. means if the points are same then rank to be assigned on average basis.

and what should happen if by chance Rank & Average are identical for 2 or more players ?

(on an aside I'm pretty sure we've covered this previously)

In which case if we assume points value is always whole:

But in once you suggested me that we must use COUNTIF instead of SUMPRODUCT.

Where you don't need to use SUMPRODUCT you shouldn't but here given size of range etc it makes sense to me.

If you're not bothered about backwards compatibility you could use:

but given the smallness of range there's little in it IMO.
