Merging Needed info and then Deleting Duplicates

    Hello all,

I am working on a real estate spreadsheet and have run into a small dilemma. There are several duplicate entries that need to be deleted, BUT here is the caveat: on one line of the dupe there is an entry in one of the columns that needs to be merged into the other entry before being deleted.

I havce attached the spreadsheet im working with. As you can see, when sorted by address, there are several duplicates. The duplicate address entried have one line which has no info except for a year built date, and another line with all the other info, EXCEPT the year built date. I need to make these lines one, but without losing the year built date by simply removing duplicates.

I need a way of first combining the data...in other words making one line out of two, in which all of the information will be listed, and the other duplicate line can then be deleted. In other words again to clarify, I need to have ONE line that has all of the information that these two lines contain. The one thing that is rarely listed in one of the lines is building year, BUT it has everyting else needed. So I just need to have that building year carried up, then delete the dupe.

Is there a way of doing this?

Am I being clear? sorry, but its a difficult thing to describe.

For those of you not willing to download my attachment, here is a textual example:

I NEED THE BOLDED UNDERLINED YEAR BUILT to be carried up into the first entry. THEN I need to have the second entry DELETED, as it is a duplicate of the first (same address)

The problem with an example this small is that it doesn't make it clear how to handle multiple cases. How are the double rows laid out in relation to one another? Are there ever instances of only a single row?

An example workbook really should demonstrate all the possible variations that your data would present since they would all have to be dealt with at the same time. Think it through and expand your example to show all the hurdles that have to be overcome.

It also doesn't hurt to add a RESULTS sheet to show exactly what your desired results would be based on the larger example data set.

OK thanks for the advice. I've updated my post now with the full spread sheet im working on, and an example of how I want it to look.

There are instances of single rows, not everything is duplicated.

In the "HOW IT SHOULD LOOK" sheet, lines 10 & 11 are duplicates. Line 16 shows how I would like them to be combined.

I've included line 20, because ideally I would like to take the Project Name/Owner from the duplicate lines that just have year built, and also carry them over (over writing whatever was there previously). This is because the lines with just the year built and no other info are from title companies and have more accurate/updated ownership information. I realize this further complicates things, so if it can't be done then it cant be done.
