Creating lists of names from table where the people meet certain criteria

I have a table which has in the far left hand column a list of names. Running across the table are a list of characteristics. If the person named on the far left has the characteristic then a 1 is shown in the corresponding box (see Sheet one in my example).

On the second sheet using a drop down box I want to be able to select a characteristic. Based on this selection I want to populate a list of all the people (names) who have this characteristic - i.e. all the people who are for example male. The drop down list can be changed at any point to select a new characteristic.

Am sure this can be done using MATCH INDEX VLOOKUP etc.... just not sure how.

Have included a dummy example to illustrate.
