    Mapping list

    Hi,

I have a very convoluted requirement( that is what i think), but hope that if excel gurus can help me with this, it would save lot of time for me in describing the mapping data flow.

I'm trying to lay out data flow for our LDAP (Directory) System. Basically we've several ldaps, and there is a synchronization tool which pulls out different attributes ( like name, mail, phoneNumber etc. ) from nine or more LDAPs and populates them in one single Central LDAP.

The example for one ldap is like this :

    LDAP 1 :

    firstname
    givename
    mail
    phonenumber
    ...............

There may be several attribute associated with one ldap.

What I want to do in Excel is to create multiple sheets based on each ldap, then create one master sheet. However, i want this master sheet to be dynamic that means i want it to be changed wrt setting i entered in each individual sheet ( like against each attribute, i would put an option like Yes/No, which mean if I say Yes, the attribute would appear in master sheet). Finally, if someone looks at the master sheet, it would be very clear about the list of attribute present in central ldap, and source of each attribute that attributed to that list. It would be great if master sheet can associate each attribute wrt color code etc or anyway which would be make master sheet look more illustrative.

I thought of putting this in flow chart diagram, but do not want to that as it would not be dynamic, and diagram would extend into several pages. As of now, i can think of excel that can help me out.

I tried to explain my requirement in simplest, however what i want to accomplish is more complex, but i would like to improvise the sheet further.

Please let me know if you need any further info. I'm attaching a sample sheet as i intend but it is static, i want it to be dynamic.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Regards, John.

I could probably come up with something using Visual Basic, and have it update with an activesheet change code, if you're comfortable having that run. Let me know if that's an option, I'm not too sure how you'd do that with formula, one of the other users might be able to, but I'm not sure.
    =IF(AND(OR(BLONDE,BRUNETTE,REDHEAD),OR(MY PLACE,HER PLACE),ME),BOW-CHICKA-BOW-WOW,ANOTHER NIGHT ON THE INTERNET)
