OLAP cube Pivot table - too many records?

I am trying to create an OLAP cube that pulls from an Oracle DWH. The DWH table has several hundred thousand if not million records. Is it possible to build an OLAP pivot table when the data source has that many records. The error I am getting is something to the effect that there are more than 64,000 children to the parent combination. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I would guess it's more like a limit on the resulting combinations than unique records.

The output table can not be created because there are too many row items.

What version of Excel are you using?

What version of Oracle database are you using?

Are you using the Oracle database OLAP option?

Excel uses MDX in order to query an OLAP cube, and Oracle doesn't natively support MDX without using a third party MDX provider such as Simba.

Excel can easily handle an Oracle OLAP cube with billions of rows in the source tables.
