Summarising data using combo box

Hello,

I reeealy need help

I have about 44 sheets of data which show information about different products from manufacturers (1 sheet=one manufacturer). Every sheet has the same number of columns (the same info about the every product), but different number of rows (one manufacturer has more products to offer than the other one). I wish to make a summary sheet, where by using the combo box (from which you would pick a manufacturer), the data about that manufacturer would be shown. Is this even possible?

Your requirement is quite vague..... I would suggest posting a sample of your workbook demonstrating how you want the summary sheet to look (what data you want summarised and where it should go)

Welcome to the forum.

Do you need to have them all in separate tabs? If they all have same columns, generally I'd recommend having them all in one sheet with the first column having the Manufacturer in it. You could then set up your data as table or add an auto-filter so you can just choose the manufacturer from the drop-down. The benefit is generally your data is more maintainable in the long run and it's simpler to add a new manufacturer.

I don't know what external needs you have to meet with this, so it may not be appropriate to your situation.

The attached example is just an illustration. The first column is where you'd filter for Manufacturer.

Thanx a lot, but this wont help me a lot. I need to analyse the data by the manufacturer, different types of fuel and so on.. and it has to be very user-friendly. Basically so that a person who knows nothing is able to using e.g. if he selects BMW, he/she would see the full analysis of that car...

Ihave just seen Maistryes post. I agree entirely. All in one page add auto filters or pivot table voila.... easy to manage, re, your point about ease for user , write some guidance steps......

I am still unclear as to what data you want to pull, you say "full analysis"....in your last post and "summary" in your first post...... but what is it that you want to see? that the Audi R8 is petrol???

Question is: summarise data by manufacturer and count how many models they have in dataset for each fuel types.

That is almost what I need but... this is a university assignment, and our lecturer has a specific way of modelling and he summarises data by combo boxes... and i guess if I want a good mark, I do need to follow his style... Nevertheless, thanx a lot!

Ohhhhhhh. homework! you have to learn rather than have someone do it for you! I would recommend this site.
