    subString Formatting within Formula

I have a spreadsheet where I use a formula to concantenate several fields into a single cell. I want to be able to format a portion of that cell - say to underline the second field and to bold the fourth, for instance. Is there a way to do that? Failing that, how 'bout a way to format the original field and to have not just the contents of the field but the attached formatting follow, as well?

    TIA.

You cannot format text that is appearing via formula. Only cells with flat text in them can have multi-text formatting.
