    Security warning

I have received an Excel 2003 workbook by email from a trusted source. When I open it in Excel 2007, it opens fine but there is a "Security Warning", and I am told that Macros and Links have been disabled. I found that it had 4 simple print macros which I deleted. After trying a number of alternatives, I then selected all sheets and all cells in the entire workbook, and ran GoTo Special, selected all dependent cells and deleted those cells, so that there are no dependent cells (or formulas) in the entire workbook.

I then saved, closed and reopenned the workbook, and again get the same security warnings. I want to deliver this workbook to others, but want to get rid of the security warnings (hopefully without deleting the content of the workbook!)?

    Thanks

    Re: Security warning

You need to remove the module(s) in VBA rather than just deleting the macros.

In the VBE, right click on the module(s) and select Remove Module.

Also check the class modules for the sheets and the workbook and delete any code there.

Not sure what you have deleted when you say you have deleted "dependent cells". Is that not the formulae that depend on a cell?

Did you delete the code modules that the macros were in?

Did you clear EVERYTHING in the ThisWorkbook module and the Sheet modules?

Thanks - I'll to the VBA steps.

by "dependent cells" - that's any cell that contains a formula referencing another cell. they can be quickly identified using GO TO Special.

    Re: Security warning

Why do you want to delete the formulae? Surely the workbook is next to useless if you do that?
