Displaying the source cell of a formula result

    Hi,

I have a workbook with 8 tabs in it. The 1st 7 tabs are costs from various suppliers for the same products. The 8th tab is a summary table showing the cheapest supplier for each product, which i achieved by using the =MIN formula

I now need to identify which supplier gave the best rate, so how can i find the sources of the values returned by the =MIN formulas?

    Thanks

    James

Re: Displaying the source cell of a formula result

    Try:

    =INDEX(A:A,Match(MIN(B:B),B:B,0))

where MIN(B:B) is the min formula you have Or you can just reference the cell that has the result, and A:A is the column containing the suppliers names that you want to extract. B:B is the column where you haave the costs.

Note: This will give you the first occurance of the Minimum value if it is duplicated in the column.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
