    Styles on chart components

    Hello,
How, if at all, can I apply styles to chart components, such as axis titles, legend entries, and so on?
    Thanks.

    Hello,

you can save a chart as a template (Chart Tools > Design > Save as template). The template includes all aspects of the chart, i.e. Chart Type, formatting, etc. Then you can select data in your sheet and then click Insert > Other Charts > All Chart Types > Templates ... and select from the templates you saved.

Unfortunately, the final selection box only shows thumbnail images of the chart type and has very little else to offer, other than the template name when you hover the mouse over the thumbnail, so you better come up with very descriptive template names.

    cheers,

Well, that's not exactly what I meant. Actually my question was if it's possible to apply styles containing fonts, colors, etc. to chart elements (such as axis titles).

    Not really.

The best you have is, for example with the chart title selected, the styles in Chart Tools > Format > Shape Styles or WordArt Styles.

You could create your own collection of styles and build an add-in but you may find some the styling is not available via the object model in xl2007
    Cheers
