    VLOOKUP with Indirect

To start with I want to apologize if I don't use the proper English words to explain my problem - I'm using the Sweidsh version of Excel 2010.

I have several named areas (ranges?) with different lists of codes. I want to use VLOOKUP to find a certain value in the second column in a specified area. So far so good.

I now would like to improve my formula by putting the name of the area in a cell an then use the cell content for VLOOKUP to search the correct list.

I tried the INDIRECT, but I can't get it to work - is it at all possible?

I would appreciate any tips and tricks, thank you in advance...

    Re: Indirect?

Please post a sample workbook so that the layout can be seen and the correct formula established.

@Lissu - by the sounds of it you would want something along the lines of:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
where A1 holds criteria value and B1 holds the name of the named area (modify the range_lookup as nec. ie from 0 to 1 [or omit])
