Trying to get gridlines to print only where there are visible values.

    Hello,
I am having an issue with gridlines that I don't recall having before. I have spreadsheets that are full of hidden formulas which only have visible values when those formulas are true. I used to be able to set the gridlines to view and print and only the section where there are visible values would print. Now, I am getting gridlines on every page that includes formulas in the cells. I have a 10 page spreadsheet and I only have 1 page with visible data, but I'm getting 1 page with the values and 9 pages that are printing with empty gridlines. I have made sure all cells are clear other than the formulas which are unseen and I have even tried making new spreadsheets thinking maybe there's something that I'm not seeing, but its the same. I don't recall this happening until I changed to 2010. Seemed like gridlines always only printed when the values were visible. Am I mistaken? And if not, how do I get it to print gridlines on just the page with the information on it?

It might be a good idea to attach a copy of your workbook so we can see what's happening. Remember to remove any sensitive data before uploading!

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:

    Attachment 298529

I hope I attached this right. First time trying but if its successful, here's what I'm trying to do....
I am trying to print the Appts for 5 page, but only the visible text with gridlines. Because I have formulas that are pulling from the Company page copied down for approx 94 rows (or 2 pages with this page set up) it is wanting to print blank pages as well. Print preview shows this. Prior to 2010 upgrade, I could just click print and only the pages with visible text would print. I have the formula set to return a blank if the formula is untrue, which is what I want. I just cant get it to print that way.

    Hi everyone,
Ok, so this is what I came up with on my own. Apparently if you have formulas built into cells, you still have to set a print area to print only the pages that have "viewable" values. This isn't a huge issue with small spreadsheets, but could be with larger ones. I was able to get the gridline situation to work how I needed it to by using conditional formatting. I can't believe there isn't a setting other than "set print area" to only print what you can see, and not all the blank pages of a workbook. If I run my formula from a1:a65636, and I only have data in 1 through a200 on that particular day, and I accidentally hit quick print, it will print the 2 pages of viewable values and also 1,423 blank pages. This can't be right

Thanks for your attempt at helping Trish
