Counting # days off in a time range

Hi guys,

I hope you can help me as I do not know how to solve this dilemma!
There are 9 people that need to be paid based on how many days they worked. The point is that (due to bank holidays, sickness etc) is possible they worked less days than supposed.
Please note that 1 person can be off more than 1 day and than nobody works when the company is closed.

How can I calculate the number of days off per person with an excel formula? Attached you can find an example with the manual calculation. I would need the same results with a formula.
