Excel 2007 : Referencing Rows

I'm struggling looking for a solution to a problem I am having. I even saw a similar solution on an excel worksheet once, so I know it is possible to accomplish, but for my life I cannot find what I need. Essentially, I would like reference entire rows of from one worksheet to another (like I would single cells), so that I would have two worksheet; the first functions as a database of all available items and the second as those that are picked.

The reason for this is because I want to conveniently between items on the database, link them to the second worksheet and then analyze the various attributes that the combination of items produces.

Any suggestions to how I could accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.
