    Formula help, please

I am pretty good with some of the very basic formulas, but this one is above my head.

This may make no sense at all, but I will give it a shot anyway.

My player performance index is based on statistical criteria including number of minutes played. I can derive the minutes played, but I am struggling to locate a given player's number when she is either in or out of the lineup. If she is in, there is a number representing her playing time in a column corresponding to that row. If not, no number is found in that row. This is my attempt to sum playing time in the quickest possible fashion.

Part two is determining my most effective lineup based on two columns of varying data.

I have a link to a sample of what I am looking for at https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...QM3pVUmc&hl=en

If anyone can offer some help on either one of these, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Tony

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
    Hope that helps.
