formula to highlight every instance apart from first

Dear Community,

I have edited post to add attachment. I am referring to Col A Course Codes

Good evening.

I am wondering if anyone could help me with a formula to highlight all duplicates apart from the first instance in cell range A2:A2280. or highlight first instance in green and 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th ect in red?

As an aside. Does anyone know if the Advanced Filter unique records only will let me extract data from more than one column.

Try formula:

=COUNTIF(A$1:A1,A1)>1

as your conditional formula after selecting column A.

Splendid - worked a treat thanks.

Its so frustrating sometimes, trying to work things out, then when your so wired and wound up you just get further away from the answer.

Its a real shame that the filter unique records only works for one col and not more!!
