    Excel IF Statement and nesting

    What I have is an excel file that displays 6 milestones by date:

    Milestone 1 Milestone 2 Milestone 3 Dates elapsed since last Milestone
    10/1/2010 10/10/2010 11/1/2010

    What I need is a final column that displays the number of days since the last milesone was met. here is what I have so far

    =IF(ISBLANK(C2),B2-A2,C2-A2)

    but have been unable to nest is and make it work.:

    Any help is greastly appreciated!

    Re: Excel IF Statement and nesting

    Based on your question statement: "days since last milestone met" then this would be today's date minus the last date in the range, right?

    So this in C2, then copied down:

    =IF(COUNT($A2:$C2)=0, 0, TODAY() - LOOKUP(2,1/($A2:$C2>0), $A2:$C2))

    You could make the 0 into "n/a" if you wanted.
